Always follow your passion

“No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid.”

Well, I am Alisha Mehta basically from Pune but currently settled in Bangalore! My dream story is quite different from others. I actually never had a dream, always followed the track my parents told me.

I still remember the happiness they had when I got shortlisted for a masters degree course in VIT university in the field of biotechnology. Yes! I have done masters in biotechnology. My life completely got changed when I went to VIT University. Life at college is the time when the teenage years end and we all dive deep into the ocean of new beginnings and possibilities.

My thinking was changed and started thinking about my life, my career. I started following my Friends and started accepting their dreams as mine as the major reason to join VIT was getting a good job.

All I use to do is to study the entire day so that I get a job in a good company. During my free time, I basically use to click photos and write blogs in my diary about fashion, food and travel. Actually, I never thought it as a career option and always treated as my hobby. But nothing made me as happy as I would be while clicking photos and writing my stories.

Post the course was completed I was placed in the biotech company into a marketing and sales domain. Work life was good but was never happy doing my work. On weekends I use to work on writing articles and clicking photos.

A year after I realised that I don’t want to work into this domain any more as I was not giving justice to my job. Hence, started applying for jobs. Many difficulties I faced since I did not have the degree to prove my skills and thus got a rejection from various companies. However, Luckily I got an opportunity to work in Ola Cabs as social media supervisor they loved the content which I wrote and wanted to give me an opportunity to work with them.

I was completed thrilled and excited to start a new chapter of my life. Initially, my parents had issues but later they supported me. My friends were my major support for my entire journey of ups and downs. They always showed me various platforms were I can showcase my skills and also told me to study an online course to get proper training on my passion. They always motivated me to follow my passion and it will pay me one.

I was in love with my work and enjoyed every bit of it. Blogs and clicking photos are what I love and taken up this as my career was the best decision in my Life I felt.
