Nari hi Durga

Nari Hi Durga

कभी प्रचंड
कभी शीतल
नारी के रूप अनेक ..

Indian mythology describes women with varied behavioural patterns.
Sometimes she is depicted as an epitome of beauty whereas sometimes she is seen as the destructor of eternity.
She is the beginning and also the end.
I believe that she comes to you as you think of her.
She is a faith that can be associated with your thoughts and actions.
Durga is a sanskrit word whose meaning is “The Inaccessible”.

In Hinduism Durga is the principle form of the Goddess, also known as Devi or Shakti.
Durga is the creation of all the Gods including Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and she is believed to be the most powerful one.

दुर्गा ही शक्ति
दुर्गा ही प्रबल
दुर्गा ही देवी
दुर्गा को नमन

Durga is both beautiful and menacing to her enemies. She is the collective energy of the universe. Ultimate power of the universe resides in her.

Created by the trinity of Gods, Goddess Durga came into existence to combat the evil demon Mahishasura.

She is a powerful female form with 10 arms.
She is a warrior form of Goddess Parvati.
Emerged from the waters of the holy Ganga as a spirit, she was given a physical form by all the Gods.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्ति रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

And if you don’t believe in mythology, you can pledge to respect the women around you. I believe all women are powerful and beautiful entities. And deserve respect and appreciation for their efforts.

As a science teacher I also believe what I see but I respect the Hindu mythology for the concepts they put up to make us understand the importance of women in our life. Those who understand this are blessed. And women are certainly blessed to have the gift of being the evolution balancers. By this I mean the power of giving birth which is the basis of entire human existence.

It is time we respect the importance of girl child too as there has to be a balance and nature guides us at every step. We only need to look at it closely and with all our faith.

Jai Ma Durga
May all be blessed.
