A Leader with Unputdownable Spirit

Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Dream Life Journey, YourDreamTale.com

When you dream to do some good for your nation then there is nothing as powerful that can restrict you from doing it. Some people among us retain so intense love for their countrymen and nation that their entire life becomes shorter to serve. In recent time India has lost such a great personality. Yes, you have guessed it right, we are going to talk about our former Prime Minister A.B Vajpayee who has left to his heavenly abode a few days back. A great patriotic soul and his demise left a void in Indian politics.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was India’s 10th Prime Minister after I.K Gujral and succeeded by Manmohan Singh. From a very young age, he took the patriotic thoughts as a motto of his life. Born in 25th December 1924, his childhood days were mostly spent in his hometown Gwalior. Being a son of a teacher and poet Mr. Vajpayee was not only a famous politician but also an acclaimed poet and writer. His opinion about his poetry book was, these are the poetry of war, which was mostly written during his imprisonment in Bengaluru central prison. It was always a surprise, how a poet and a politician with such iron determination can live in a single soul.

Being born in British ruled India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee got directly engaged with Indian freedom movement in his early age. His dream to see his nation in an honorable position was actually taking shape from that time. As per some source, it has been stated that he and his elder brother once got arrested to be an active activist in Quit India Movement (1942). Some source also says that they got bail only after they proved themselves as a part of the crowd and not the activists. It is more ironical that once he got arrested for his linking with a freedom movement against the British and after his sad demise the Union Jack was kept half must for a day in front of British High Commission to show the sign of mourn and respect to the great leader. But, a dreamer never stops before fulfilling the dream and the case of our former Prime Minister was not different.

When you dream to do some good for your nation then there is nothing as powerful that can restrict you from doing it. Some people among us retain so intense love for their countrymen and nation that their entire life becomes shorter to serve.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee got selected for his prime ministership for three times. The first time was for 13 days, the second one for 13 months and the third term was for the full time for long 9 years (1996-2004). During his prime ministership, India has envisaged various positive changes in its politics. If we talk about the infrastructural improvements. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojna was one of them as making proper connectivity between villages and another part of the country is one of the most inevitable works to be done to bring positive change in the development of rural areas.

Another one is education. Education makes a nation well developed and to fasten this development he launched Sarva Siksha Aviyan (SSA). He was the first Prime Minister who tried to bring back the bonhomie between India and Pakistan after a Pokhran nuclear test consequence. He flagged the India-Pakistan bus service to bring back the vibrancy in the relationship and he also invited the then Pak Prime Minister Parvez Musharraf to visit India and his birthplace Delhi, so that it becomes easier. Thus, his dream to serve his nation got fulfilled and he claimed a special place in the heart of every true Indian.
